Rape is forced and unwanted, it about power not sex, because it happens without the consent of the victim. Rape can also called sexual assault, which happened to both men and women of any age. Rape is a crime whether the person committing it is a stranger, a date, an acquaintance, or a family member. 

No matter how it happened, rape is upsetting. People who have been raped need care, comfort and a way to heal.

So, the effect of rape were particularly significant in children's lives, as it lingered in their brains, which threw them into a state of fear and distrust.

The stigma attached to rape has made many parents so less likely to speak out when their children are raped. Even the adults too, who have been raped do not usually report it to the authorities.

And this, prevent the law enforcement agencies from doing their job properly, especially in terms is investigating and prosecuting that penetrators. 

And, most people who are raped know their rapist. That can sometimes lead the person who's been raped to try to protect the penetrator. Don't worry about protecting the person who rape you.

If you want to report the crime to the police please do so. Because reporting a rape may help protect others from that person. And may help you, feel a little less like you were a victim.
